Shameless Plug

I was originally introduced to the world as a better place with Frank's RedHot sauce last February in the mountains outside of Colorado Springs. Many life altering events took place during that fateful trip, but somehow I lost touch with the memory of good ol' Frank.

Recently as I wandered about the aisles on a seemingly never ending grocery trip, I happened upon Frank's RedHot sauce. I wondered if it was as good as I had remembered only a year ago. So I placed a small seemingly unimportant bottle of sauce into the cart amongst daily necessities of life.

It is a superb way to invigorate tired left-over pizza, spice up a bean burrito, and have heard (and can't wait to try) makes eggs truly incredibly edible!

They Might Be Giants

For those of you who were totally baffled by the last entry...

I was listening to this album in the early '90's and still find myself enjoying it from time-to-time. What makes it more entertaining is hearing the songs being revisited by my 3 year old. So "make a little birdhouse in your soul."

The Way of the Wild Heart

I received the following from a newsletter that I subscribe to from John Eldredge's website. I read his first book and absolutely loved it! I'll be ordering this one soon.

I am really, REALLY excited to announce the release of my new book, The Way of the Wild Heart – A Map for the Masculine Journey .

I think you are going to love it. Five years ago I wrote Wild at Heart to awaken men (and women) to what God set in the heart of a man. But this new book is the one I’ve been wanting to write, because it lays out the masculine journey stage by stage, and shows men (and those who love them) how God comes to us and Fathers us into a genuine masculine wholeness and strength. Wild at Heart began the vision; The Way of the Wild Heart provides guidance through the journey. The book is written on two levels. First, for men who find themselves in the masculine journey but needing a guide. And second, for parents of sons (of any age) who want to know how to raise them to be men. For a brief video of me talking about the new book, click on this link: The Way of the Wild Heart - Video Introduction by John Eldredge You can email the video to friends to let them know about the new release. Would you join me in praying that this message reaches many men, and women, and boys, and that it brings healing to their lives? O, how I pray for that. Together with you for the hearts of men and women,
John

Potassium Benzoate (To Protect Taste)

I don't know what possessed me to look at the ingredients of the Diet Coke sitting on my desk. It just happened. I was curious to see if their were any ingredients that I was familiar with. Just 2 or 3 sounded vaguely similar to anything I might be interested in consuming. However, what jumped out at me was "Potassium Benzoate (to protect taste)." For those of you who know me, it won't be a huge stretch for you to realize that my imagination would get the best of me. I can visualize 2 chemical compounds at the molecular level wielding samurai swords or better yet light sabers saying "don't go near there." Then, there are a band of Die-T's hiding behind the caramel coloring waiting for a chance to steal to coveted "taste." The Die-T's scream and yell curses of "Weight Watchers" and "Jenny Craig" while charging only to be subdued by the fearless Potassium Benzoates (nicknamed Tassi and Benz). However, Taste being totally subjective makes an emotional decision and forfeits some of his appeal to accommodate the terminally wounded Die-T's.

I thought it was a much more exciting story as to why Diet Coke DOES indeed taste different than regular Coke. So if you ever wonder what I may be thinking, now you know.... Don't ask!
