Loading Up! Moving Out!

Dear Friends,
We are frantically packing/planning our trip to Colorado. Getting the Tahoe's oil changed and getting everything planned to begin loading. We headed to "Wally World" (aka Wal-Mart) last night to grab some road snacks, atlas, and other miscellaneous items needed when travelling long distances with three and four year old boys.

We are heading to the mountains outside of Colorado Springs. We will be staying with our friends the Dale's in their beautiful new home with their now four cute kids.

Please be in prayer for my family as we travel and enjoy spending time together as a family. Also, please pray that the Lord's plan for my life begin to become unveiled to me. Pray that we won't be sidetracked by bickering/hostility and allow the our thoughts and words be His.

Sincerely,

Mark

They Might Be Giants

For those of you who were totally baffled by the last entry...

I was listening to this album in the early '90's and still find myself enjoying it from time-to-time. What makes it more entertaining is hearing the songs being revisited by my 3 year old. So "make a little birdhouse in your soul."

Update

I am beginning the planning phases of my family trip to Colorado for the "Wild at Heart Boot Camp." I am trying to prepare my mind and soul to be open for what God has called me to be. Please pray for my family's safe travel and the Lord's plan for my family start to unfold.

Christmas List (Cont'd)

Scratch the Remington 700 off the list... I think I got one! Hurry only 48 more shopping days left. I believe the "Deer Hauler" is still open & I could use more than one, so don't worry about duplicating that item... See the following link for accurate descriptions of requested items.

MY CHRISTMAS LIST

The Way of the Wild Heart

I received the following from a newsletter that I subscribe to from John Eldredge's website. I read his first book and absolutely loved it! I'll be ordering this one soon.

I am really, REALLY excited to announce the release of my new book, The Way of the Wild Heart – A Map for the Masculine Journey .

I think you are going to love it. Five years ago I wrote Wild at Heart to awaken men (and women) to what God set in the heart of a man. But this new book is the one I’ve been wanting to write, because it lays out the masculine journey stage by stage, and shows men (and those who love them) how God comes to us and Fathers us into a genuine masculine wholeness and strength. Wild at Heart began the vision; The Way of the Wild Heart provides guidance through the journey. The book is written on two levels. First, for men who find themselves in the masculine journey but needing a guide. And second, for parents of sons (of any age) who want to know how to raise them to be men. For a brief video of me talking about the new book, click on this link: The Way of the Wild Heart - Video Introduction by John Eldredge You can email the video to friends to let them know about the new release. Would you join me in praying that this message reaches many men, and women, and boys, and that it brings healing to their lives? O, how I pray for that. Together with you for the hearts of men and women,
John

"Highway to the Danger Zone"

It's a sad day in American aviation history. The "Top Gun" icon F-14 Tomcat is being retired. The fighter jet that made every boy in my class want to become a Navy pilot. I had to have my official Air Force aviator sunglasses (which were lost by a roommate in college who "borrowed" them). I, to this day, "feel the need for speed." I still remember being awstuck by the sound of two F-14's screaming overhead (after burners, baby) at National Jamboree while listening to Lee Greenwood singing "I'm Proud to be an American."

It saddens my heart to know that such an intimidating aircraft is destined to collect dust and fingerprints in a museum or even worse be abandoned in the Arizona desert were it will suffer the elements and die a slow and painful demise (drama).

So for all you "Maverick"s out there, take a moment...

Cure for the Common Life

I have begun a Sunday School class reading/discussing Max Lucado's "Cure for the Common Life: Living in Your Sweet Spot. " Through this book/discussions I hope to determine how to use my "you"niqueness "to make a big deal out of God." I became interested in reading this book after reading a review by my good friend Jon Dale. You can read it by clicking on the link below.

Chasing the Wild Goose

Dear God,

Be with our group as we explore our lives and your purpose for our gifts/talents. Guide us and comfort us as only you can. Thank you for all the blessings you have given us.

Wild at Heart

Wild, Dangerous, Alive!

"Are these the attributes of a godly man? Think back to your boyhood: Remember the boyhood dreams that had you tracking dangerous villains, swing swords, and storming the castle? Adventure is what God planned for you. John Eldredge invites you to join him in his passionate, daring, and wild at heart video series.

Be part of this life-changing, multi-media experience. John and his band of brothers will show you how God can help you fulfill the vision He has for your life, and how to be the man He wants you to be."

I will be leading this series at our church (St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Claremore, OK) very soon. Please let me know if you are interested and I will forward the information to you.
