Recognized?

No longer unofficially official. I am now officially recognized as the pastor of the Jonesville and Mt. Pisgah churches. (Random thought: I am the only UM pastor in the entirety of Grant County / scary huh!). It is strange to be recognized by someone whom I have never met. Most likely I would not recognize them and consequently, I doubt that if I where to bump into the bishop he would recognize me. Hmmm

I have been away from the house for nearly 14 hours today and am seriously ready to be home. I spent the day in Grant County (remember, I am the only one) mostly. I spent the morning fixin' up the parsonage for the weekend. The fam' is planning on spending the weekend celebrating Mt. Pisgah's annual homecoming events. It'll be nice to get to visit and get to know our friends here up north. I also had the privilege of attending the funeral of a wonderful woman whom I have never met. Being allowed to share in her memories by family members was truly an honor.

Then, off to Owen County for pizza! Through casual discussion and tasty eats, my D.S. (District Superintendent) acknowledged that the bishop recognizes me as the pastor of this charge. Yeah!

Lucky for all of you, I made it back in town in time for late night security. So after locking all the doors and turning out all the lights, I sat down to watch another exciting episode of Buck Rogers (I love Twiggy) and update all you folks on the happenings in the land of Kentucky.

Good night!

Well congratulations on your official-ness. Now you can do all the fun stuff.

Congratulations on the official recognition! So who officiated at the funeral? I'm assuming that funerals will become a part of what you are expected to perform in your new position; had you thought of that?
I just officiated my second and hopefully last funeral Saturday and it went well, we missed you.

Congrats again!
