I was watching a visual presentation at the Creation Museum of the crucifixion of Christ from the perspective of the Roman soldier who realized that Jesus was the Son of God. I was reflecting on the different aspects of the crucifixion story. I had one of those, "I was wondering why the Frisbee was getting bigger. Then, it hit me!" moments.
I was remembering that the curtain was torn in two upon Jesus' death. Then, I put it together (finally) that this was the curtain dividing us from the Holy of Holies. It appears to me that this was not an act of retaliation from God (as I had presumed previously), but rather a symbol of what Christ's death has done for us.We no longer have restricted access to God veiled behind a curtain. Through Jesus Christ we now have unrestricted access! The curtain has been removed. Our Lord died so that we may now have access to the restoration of relationship that was lost in the Garden.
An 'ah ha' moment I wanted to share with you.
Blessings.
