Dear Friends and Family,

Apologies for the delay in updating you on our adventures in Wilmore. As many of you know, I was offered (and accepted) a part-time teaching job the day after we arrived home from Oklahoma this summer. I was hired late in the afternoon of Aug 1 to teach an afternoon section of Kindergarten at the Jessamine Early Learning Village. This is the school that the boys attended last year and Logan attends this year. It is a public school that serves the preschool and kindergarten needs of the entire county of Jessamine. Although technically I am part-time with a salary to match, I pretty much work full-time. The Village is a wonderful school with no other in the country to match it - truly unique. However, with such a reputation, you can imagine the expectations . . . and the stress. Thank God it is such a wonderful group of professionals to work with or I fear I would've had a break down by now.

Ethan is "coping" with first grade. It is very different from Kindergarten and the transition has been a little rough. He is doing well socially and has lots of friends. Although, he does better one on one or in small groups, and first grade has more whole class instruction. I think he gets a little overwhelmed and distracted. We are working on some things at home and weighing our options for next year. He and Mark are participating in Cub Scouts for the first time this year! Ethan is still trying to understand the concept of Scouts, but he is really enjoying spending this special time with his dad. He even earned his Bobcat badge this last week.

Logan is really enjoying Kindergarten. We get to see each other everyday at lunch, which is great! We still have concerns about whether he is really ready for kindergarten, but I think he will do well. He is such a quick learner. He, of course has many friends - who share his passion for Star Wars! When I go into work early (which is usually every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) Logan gets to stay home with Mark which he, of course, loves. He's such a Daddy's boy!

Mark is staying busy, as well. He was officially offered, and accepted, the preaching job in Dry Ridge. We've gotten the parsonage cleaned up and sometimes travel up there on Saturday and stay the weekend. He is taking three classes (a full load) on Tuesdays and Thursdays and still working about 12 hours a week at the seminary. For the most part, Mark is home all week and, with the number of hours I work, is adjusting to being Mr. Mom.

Let us know how your lives are doing! Love and blessings.

Amy

We have yet to have our first cubscout meeting. I am blaming Mark for moving first. He was supposed to co-lead with me!

Congrats Ethan!
